[Wiki] Unsupported / problematic websites in Sailfish Browser

List mobile and/or desktop websites (tested over WLAN) that have issues in Sailfish browser:

• https://www.wsj.com/ - Any article I have tried kills Sailfish X 2.1.4.14. Black screen, red LED. Hard reset works, will eventually reboot by itself otherwise.   • http://www.gazzetta.it - Browser makes lipstick crash, on Jolla 1, and reboots on Sailfish X [Still on 2.2.0.29]. The same website crashes on Webcat, not always, but with minor side effects. https://together.jolla.com/question/181292/bug-website-gazzettait-on-default-browser-kills-xperia-x/

  • http://m.futurezone.at - Browser crashes with segmentation fault when you try to log in via Facebook for commenting articles. See details here. It works without problems with the Android firefox on my jolla. [1.1.2.16] (Added on 24. April 2015)
  • http://m.tpg.ch (poor optimized, need UI style like m.cff.ch) -> confirmed with [1.1.2.15] - (updated on 23. Feb. 2015):
  • www.wetterochs.de/wetter when pressing "Vorhersagediagramm anzeigen" some text simply disappears SFOS2.1.0 - webcat works as expected...
  • phoronix.com SFOS2.1.0 ads are wrong sized and cropped
  • m.txt.ch (updated on 23. Feb. 2015): Scrolling a teletextpage (after entering any number) won't work with [1.1.2.15] - the page will stuck and while trying to scroll it will jump back to the stuck position and is also hiding content on that way
  • checker.vadian.net/check.aspx? (text to small, auto zoom issue) (if ask number, please only input number)
  • thon.99k.org (added 15.03.2014) (displaced content unreachable) (OK w/IE9, Opera 12.16), displaced w/Chrome 33, Firefox 27.01 but can view all contents
  • vimeo.com - updated on 23. Feb. 2015: video Playback still does not work with [1.1.2.15] - it just doesn't load any videos
  • transfermarkt.de is still really lagging with [1.1.2.15], no normal scroll possible! (updated on 23. Feb. 2015):
  • New Jolla website is still having a problem with [1.1.2.15] (updated on 23. Feb. 2015):
  • The small animations (the icons of Jolla's features) are not played automatically until you touch/press one icon/animation and then also only ONE animation will be played at a time.
  • https://online.ingbank.pl/bskonl/login.html (see answer below) [1.0.8.19] -> Full version,second stage: passphrase, using phone onscreen keyboard cursor won't jump to next box when letter is typed. Placing cursor by hand kinda works, but even if correct password is provided login fails (bad username/pass). To my suprise, webpage onscreen keyboard works and I was able to log in. Lite version, second stage - jump to next box doesn't work, tho I was able to log in, placing cursor manually.
  • Calmighty.info (see this answer for further information) [1.0.8.19] -> While trying to add your own team it will get stuck either at selection of league, or selection of team
  • mediamarkt.de - [1.1.2.15] (updated on 23. Feb. 2015)
  • The site is loading very long
  • It's reacting really slow on touch input in the menus
  • The website content disappears several times while loading
  • vine - [1.1.2.15] (updated on 23. Feb. 2015)
  • videos do not play
  • The website is wrongly scalled in vertical view
  • The site doesn't stop loading
  • turnauspalvelu.com - not really usable. Links not clickable etc. (see this answer) [1.0.8.19]
  • http://beta.slashdot.org/ Yellow banner keeps re-animating (most, not all of the time) and when it does it pushes the entire page down, so you start at the top again. Reported to Slashdot too, no idea who's fault.
  • m.spiegel.de - mp4 videos playing only audio track, no video rendering (all versions including 1.1.0.39)
  • https://read.amazon.com - Kindle Cloud Reader is not usable:
  • In portrait mode you cannot see the right half of the page
  • You cannot change pages which makes it basically useless
  • uninaks.ee - no horizontal scroll
  • mobile.meteofrance.com - problem of unusable menu previously reported and fixed is back. Stopped working since opt-in update 10, still present in update 11. Works with Android Firefox
  • http://sl.se/en/ - Vaarainjärvi 1.1.1.27 -
    Default option for travellingtime is "Depart now". If choosing "Depart earliest" or "Arrive at" the drop-down list box for date and time doesn´t work. -
    No problems with webcat and webpirat on Jolla.
  • zdnet.com - This website is lagging and after some scrolling you will see the monoton background so that all content disapperas (and this will stay sometimes in this situation) [1.1.2.15] (added on 23. Feb. 2015)

  • www.bild.de - Lapuanjoki [2.1.4.14] -> Halt and catch fire condition / Complete system freeze - Hardware reset ist the only option. (added on 13. Apr. 2018)

  • BBC weather: the hour-by-hour section of the page should scroll from left to right, but doesn't. Occasionally I have seen it scrolling, but soon stops. Sailfish X (2.1.4). This site works fine with the Brave browser running under Alien Dalvik

  • WebIRC client- can't enter login and channel id. On other sites not optimized for mobile viewing have same issue.

  • Vaarainjärvi 1.1.1.27 prisjakt - Doesn't pop up the VKB at the main search bar on this site. Maybe reason for this is because that the search bar edit field has input focus directly when the page has loaded, and that maybe the web browser only triggers VKB activation when a user actively clicks an edit field (that doesn't already has focus). So the problem is that the user needs to get rid of focus first, then activate the edit field again. That can be problematic, since one doesn't really want to click something else that might be a link to something else.

  • Vaarainjärvi 1.1.1.27 västtrafik and xtreamer - Another common issue on websites, in the top bar (or at least some page frame) the links are offseted, its impossible to click the right item in the bar and it doesn't get better with the usual tricks like scrolling up down or flipping to horizontal to get recalculation of the page:

  • GitHub with Sailfish X 2.1.4.14: the top-left menu does not work. GitHub also displays yellow banner stating that old versions of Firefox are not supported. (For bonus irony points see the same issue over at GitHub.)

  • PeerTube, e.g. FramaTube with SFOS 2.1.4.14. Only the following message is shown:

    We are sorry but it seems that PeerTube is not compatible with your web browser. Please try with the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. If you think this is a mistake, do not hesitate to report it.

  • together.jolla.com question editor: can't scroll the question text, but the whole page scrolls instead. Without using a custom cursor key layout, editing long questions is not possible.

  • The Irish Times (https://www.irishtimes.com/) produces a blank screen on SFOS 2.2.0.29. Works in WebPirate. (added on 6. Aug. 2018)

  • Yle Areena (https://areena.yle.fi/tv). Videos don't work on SFOS 3.0.0.8. Tested with Sailfish Browser and WebCat. Added 2018-11-26.

  • Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/). Can't login. Sign in - button doesn't work. Added 2018-12-27

  • https://www.onnibus.com. This bus company website does not open. Screen stays white as it is loading the page but page never opens. Tested with Xperia X Compact and Jolla Tablet (3.2.0.12 (Torronsuo) 16.12.2019.

  • https://www.indiegogo.com/. Crowdfunding website does not open. Screen stays white as it is loading the page but page never opens. Tested with Xperia X Compact and Jolla Tablet (3.2.0.12 (Torronsuo) 16.12.2019.

  • Any Mastodon instance using Tootsuite v3.0.1 (for instance https://mamot.fr)

  • https://revolut.com unable to select drop list country code phone number SailfishOS 3.2.1.20 Xperia10 dual sim i4113 sorry, can'use as primary phone now

  • https://signin.ebay.com/signin/ is now also affected since 3.x, besides lots of others not yet mentioned. But this is really annoying. webcat partly works
    Using Android browser (slow!) cannot be the solution, or? @jolla

EDIT: Desktop sites can also be reported here. Of course, this is for problems occuring only with Sailfish browser.

• State which version of Sailfish the problem occurs in.
• It may be useful information to add whether or not the problem is the same if visiting the site with other browsers on your Jolla.
• I suggest to also remove sites from the list if the issue has been completely solved.
