A new tool has been released on this years 31C3 congress to analyse mobile network threads. Its an Android app that uses Qualcom debug information to find e.g. silent SMS, IMSI catchers aso. It would be a good thing to have this available on Jolla, too.

Generally seconded. Have you tried running the APK already using Alien and it failed? If so: what was the behavior?

For me it just opens a window, does nothing visible and crashes after a while. I don't think it can be expected to work on Jolla as it's developers say it won't even work on custom ROMs such as cyanogenmod due to missing drivers. Even with out of the box Android it's only been confirmed to work on a handful of phones. But it would be great if it would work on Sailfish/Jolla someday.

The only possible resolution is to ask the developer to port his app on SailfishOS, irrelevant to track here, so closing...

I think it's not because freelancer like coderus are also active here and could perhaps help on this, if there are enough votes?

it is open source, what more can the developer do?

Port it to Sailfish OS?

so, shouldn't we rather tag this question app-request and re-open?

Making this app work on Sailfish would require some deep knowledge of the Qualcomm chipset (which is why it doesn't work on several custom Android ROMs) , so Jolla sailors are the best candidates to work on that.
Is Jolla still interested in promoting secure communications?
