Dear Community members,

Please acknowledge we have now enabled tag moderation. This is an attempt at lowering the much time consuming activities around janitorial tasks related to tags.
Typos, tag duplication, inconsistencies (mail, e-mail and email being the official tag as an example).
There are currently more than 3000 tags available to chose from, we believe it's more than enough ;)

Note that proper tagging is essential for us to monitor efficiently the activities, and particularly enable tracking.

We hope this change will allow better usage of tags and avoid the above mentioned pitfalls.

From now on, please first categorize with the following tags: idea, feature-request, how-to and bug (possible or alleged bugs can also simply bear that last one). Select additional tags (up to 4 but not mandatory) using the list suggestion the first letter(s) offers you. If there's no suggestion, yet you feel like your tag is missing and relevant and still want to create it, it will be moderated and we will evaluate its relevancy before you can see it active.

Kind regards, The Jolla Team

Is the 3000+ tags "final" or will/could it be brought down with more moderation on typos, duplicates etc.?

@avhakola: I hope we can reduce the overall number as many entries are single, but the initial target is to avoid any increase...

@eric, is it an idea to stick announcements like this one to the top of the page for several days so everybody reads it?

@BonoNL: You'll find both guidelines and announcement related topics under featured tags, top right of the front page...
