Hi,

I know this has been asked previously here but to follow up on the comment on that post (the link provided).

I really want to get a Jolla phone in South Africa but can't seem to get it. The Jolla phone is ICASA certified from update 1.0.7.16, so is there a possibility to add international shipping to South Africa?

On the country survey for the tablet, South Africa was number 8, there is indeed a market for the Jolla in South Africa.

Everything adds up to 'South Africa should get the Jolla asap'.

Regards,

If you are interested and willing to bear all the expenses, I can help you get a Jolla phone from India. At current exchange rate it costs around US$260 here (approx. INR 16119).

If there was any doubt - not that there would be - but I have a Jolla phone in South Africa and it works really well!

@zamorph Can you please share how you got your phone here?

@sifartech I am considering doing something like that, but (not to offend anyone) how do suggest one does it and how would one person be able to trust the other person?

@CarelC - Like you, I am just a Jolla enthusiast and don't work for Jolla. So you would have to go with your gut instinct on trust. This is how I'd go about it - You Buy the Jolla phone online from Jolla's online sales partner and ship it to my address. Once the phone reaches me, you will know through the tracking provided. I will open the package to verify the phone and accessories are present and working, and inform you. You can then again book shipping / courier to your address, online through DHL or Fedex for example, and they will pick up the package from my home (or I can drop it to their office, if necessary). This way, I don't deal with your money directly in any way.

As to how I got a Jolla phone in South Africa, I'm fortunate in that I have a family friend in the UK, who visits South Africa often. So I arranged to have the phone delivered to her UK address, and she kindly brought it with, the next time she visited.

(Apologies for the delayed reply!)
