There are many android apps not working properly with wlan connection. You can find many threads here in forum about this issue. So i think it may be a problem like tcp works, but not udp. I'm not an expert and so I'm still hoping for help from developers!

For the Philips Hue and compatible lights, there is an app available in the Jolla App Store:

Tint

I got the original Hue app installed. The app can be found on Aptoide. It works almost perfectly - including colour manipulation - with one drop of bitterness.

Remote connections do not work since the protocol is not understood on the server side. My remote request somehow seems to be announced as "phandroid" which must have its origin in Jolla's android layer.

I sent a support mail to meethue.com and I have waited for 2 weeks and still waiting for an answer.

[update] After having waited for another 2 weeks I got a mere disappointing answer:
According to the comments from our development team, at the moment, we can only guarantee that the Hue system will work correctly with either iOS or Android devices.

I will keep at it, but whoever wants to use the app, please support us by keeping the pressure at a constant level.

Maybe this needs native application. there is somekind of documentation available, also 3rd party stuff http://www.developers.meethue.com/tools-and-sdks

Sure, I would love to but have not got the time yet. Maybe I could just find the place where to change phandroid to whatever it should be.

I found out that Hue app up to 3.23 launches at Sailfish XA2 (3.3.0.16) and seems to function. However Philips have changed something from version 3.24 onwards. The app won't even start anymore when 3.24 or newer. Same experiences with others?

Hello, I would like to take this discussion thread to clarify that the light bulbs Lifx are also perfectly recognized by the Android app provided by Lifx with our Jolla phones.

In the store, since few times, Jolla there is the application SailMiLight who seems to recognize different bulbs but not the Hue or the Lifx.

For Lifx, it is an excellent base called lightsd. Not being a developer, I am inacapable of doing something. So far it seems to me that with lightsd it should be possible to do something with sailfish os. What do you think ?
