Set xdg-open for .apk-file with Alien-dalvik installation [answered]
After removing several no longer wanted apps from my jolla, android support suddenly stopped working. I reinstalled android support. That removed all my previously installed apps. Now I wanted to install F-droid: Go to f-droid.org download .apk. Open folder in file browser, run apk: Error message: xdg-open found no preferred application (3)
As soon as I installed one application from the jolla store that needs android support, I could install the f-droid.apk. When this app (from jolla store) was uninstalled, all other installed android applications (like f-droid store) would stop working.
Stop working in the sense of: App closes after loading screen is shown for a second or two.
I reckon that if you set xdg-open for apks correctly you can uninstall the jolla-store-app. Can't this be part of the android-support installation in the first place?
Maybe this whole xdg-mime/xdg-open thing would require to be escalated to a settings-UI, for easier adding/configuring of mime types to be started with certain applications?
At least following questions relate to this:

I have heard that this is possible, with

and tried it for bmp files, but anything i tried, failed.
