[feature request] automatic sorting of apps in the app launcher

It would be nice if the app launcher had option for automatically sorting apps. Currently they seem to just go in the order in which they were installed and at IRC someone said that updating apps also moves them to the end.

Some sorting options could be:

  • alphabedical order
  • usage order

Some kind of automatic categories could also be nice. On Android I used Smart Launcher which had them.

Just my 3 cents;

  • Updating apps will retain the icon position in app-grid. Uninstall and then re-installing will place icon to the end.
  • Simkit app icon (if such provided by sim/operator) will appear after booting and will always placed at the end.
  • Manual arranging is possible after long-press, but atm there is no automatic sorting. Using folders is one way to keep grid "clean".
  • What i would like to see, is sorting them by categories used in store.
