Could there be a default configuration for file navigation? in the browser [not relevant]
tldr; this is not really a browser's concern.
The browser's file navigator shows directories and files with root
permissions. This is often visually noisy rather than useful, as root files are only editable in devel-su
mode in the terminal (AFAIK). What if the browser would run as a user with fewer permissions than user nemo.nemo
so that just the files and directories relevant to browser-user
display? Mostly, that is, files in ~
. This way, files shown in the Terminal
applications would still show as they do today (01-2015), and the browser file view would change, possibly for the better.
I changed my mind about this question. After more time using the Jolla phone it seems there are other better ways to do this kind of thing.
