Mainly two point:

  • when there are no notifications, do not display "no notifications".

i know i have none. i also have no self-destruct sequence going on, but it does not say "not self-destructing" or "not plotting to kill owner". when my phone plans on killing me it would be nice if it would tell me in a timely manner, but constantly reminding me it doesn't is not neccessary. as is "no notifications"

  • (at least the option to) remove entire facebook thingy.

not a fan of facebook, just use it only for chatting and birthdays, this blue picture take A LOT of room. and, if facebook is there, why twitter is not? and google+? and whatever else? seems weird it is there in the first place. get it out.

EDIT: sorry, disabling facebook thingy seems possible, just a bit hidden for me :)

I agree with your second point that it should be optional to show the facebook logo. But I disagree with the first item, because

  1. The events screen will be just an completly empty screen if you don't have any notifications and don't use twitter and facebook and a (new) user will wonder "WTF is this empty screen for?"
  2. The 'No notifications'-placeholder shows you and especially new users that THIS is the place where you will find all of your notifications and this should be there to impress this fact to the (new) user

(at least the option to) remove entire facebook thingy.

Settings > Accounts > Facebook > Feeds and notifications (disable it).

if facebook is there, why twitter is not?

Settings > Accounts > Twitter > Tweets and notifications (enable it).
