Future ready !Reversible USB 3.1. up to 10gbps speed and 100W power. Not necessary to be 3.1(like nokia n1) its reversible and superior design that is most important.

Reversible usb is the answer for all your usb need... let me point out its features. 1. its reversible , means it fits either way . I bet you can connect it with your eyes closed. 2. 10 gbps data and 100w power .. means super speed data support for 4k videos . And full charge less than 1 hour. 3. Super small size of a lightning connector. 4. Imagine you can use a joystick or pendrive or keyboard . Mouse you name it.
Please vote to make it happen, and please suggest your opinion.

Thank you guys for your vote and response , and I do get your point . But first let justify myself I have not chosen reversible usb 3.1 for its speed or power.
I choose it, for its reversibility and superior design. That present the advantage of a much more accuracy against mechanical damage, with wrong side plug or forcing athwart thanks the rounded edges. ( i think far better than by apples with the lightning connectors). Jolla should maybe use a similar way. Jolla is still at its beginning with one phone, and no doubt it will grow up as, and be huge soon. If this change is taken into consideration, then it would be more easy for future good devices.

Come on, it'll take years before there are any peripherals available. Look at what you have for USB 3, just a handful of devices and it's been around for a while....

it would be nice if they could gove usb 3.1 to tablet (with 3.1 to 3.0 cord to connect to pc), but i thibk they've already declined it

@juiceme I am with you but keep in mind that there might be future hardware and by the looks of it it would be a good idea to have 3.1c on any device after 01/2015 (you could think that they actually did put some engineering at play this time), I'd rather have manufacturers put adapters into boxes for a year than do not have them swap to 3.1c - otoh it seems 3.0 is still not fully compatible with <3.0 devices software wise (just not working on 3.0 ports or not working on usb3 hub devices) so that will bring another challenge too

This future is 3-4 years ahead of us. So I hope the next Jolla device, if any, will be compatible with the currently used connectors.
