Hi, I have some bad experiences with OTHER manufacturers phones and tablets (at least some Microsoft Lumia and Samsung galaxy tab models) concerning certain type of charger connection. Connection is loose, or gets loose very easily. This is funny, since this problem is not difficult to solve, most phones haven't got this problem at all. For example, another very cheap basic samsung phone with wider 9mm connector has always worked nicely.

This one what I can describe " 1mm flat and 4mm narrow micro usb-looking connector" not knowing what it is called officially, seems to be the problematic one. I don't recall any other problematic charger connector model.

So I suggest, don't start to use that model with Jolla ever in the future.

So you suggest that Jolla should avoid certain types of low quality USB connectors in future devices, right? P.S.: Just tried to re-tag, but "future-devices" and "usb-connector" are new and need moderator approval.

Assuming that charger onnector type I am talking about is also usb, right. It penetrates too little into jack and its too flat. That's why it bends too easily i believe. Sorry they are so many usb connecor types i've lost track of them, im not a technician.

Unfortunately the USB micro connector is an industry standard, some years back it was mandated that all smartphone devices have to have charging via that connector.

The idea is good; to standardize the power connector on all devices. Unfortunately they just chose the wrong type of connector :(

I get this is only about mechanical issues with Micro-USB? Because there is a plethora of things concerning the standard. Like, it depends which charger and cable you are using if the phone (not only Jolla) is charged and how fast. I have one of these USB charger meters, Charger Doctor, and it is quite surprising how the used cable alone makes a difference if the phone is charged with 500 mA or 1 A!

@Venty You are right, the cable makes for 80% of the charger capability. I have been selecting appropriate cables for months and I found that aftermarket cables are almost always very bad, limiting charging speed severely. The Jolla Charge Monitor app is very good for testing cables (and envied by iPhone users): look at the DC input voltage while charging; if you get 4.8 V or above, you are using an exceptional quality cable; if you get below 4.6 V, discard that cable. Noodle-style cables tend to be good quality. Of course, the thicker the power wires, the better the cable. Sorry for the off-topic but this is good advice.
