So this was announced at the MWC today. I hope that means we can expect some good improvements to our current phones

And again a press release made in Word on Mac OS X. It shows how much they, or at least the marketing dept, root for open source...

I wonder what "improved Android application compatibility" means?? Updated Alien Dalvik? Enhanced API and/or hardware access, such as Bluetooth and wifi?

Enhanced compared to what we've currently got - but probably not enhanced beyond what we originally thought we might get ... still, if it makes it to the phone, that'll be good.
