Shortly i have discover an other alternative to owncloud, that have more or less the same functionalities. pydio and seafile are nice and really robust.
But they don't use the calendar, the contacts and taskmanager functionalities.

For someone who care of his private sphere, and want to go away of the google and ios sync, and want to hold his contact, calendar and task sync-functions, by building his own cloud server.
He could just use the owcloud alternative to it?
There is a lots of person who had some problem with owncloud.
And i can't represent me that there is just one alternative.

Indeed, there an other one called cozy.
On the paper it is the same, but the motor inside is an other one.
It is maybe not so old as owncloud. And currently has just a client on android.
This client could be ported to sailfish, but it seems to be that something else is missed.
The cordova for native mobile applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I got the information from the cozy team that the Cozy Mobile application it's an app written with Cordova.
Here is the thread that speak about this theme.

To resume the commitment:
If someone want to make is cloud system with data+calendar+contact+task sync, with something else as owncloud. The cordova interface is needed, so that it's possible port the mobile app to sailfish working with cozy cloud.

I have nothing against owncloud. but i think it is more healthy if there is more than one system like this.
Especially if we heard that sometimes owncloud could be unstable.

Have a nice sailing.

as the upgrade of OC7 to 8 worked sooo smooth (if you have encrypted files, it can take hours), i'm interested in cozy. have you tested the sync capabilities/compatibility with jolla?

@dmnk i am on the way, but it is not easy for me. i have a lot of other things to do with higher priorities. Cozy seems to be (comparing to owncloud) really young. That still a beta version (which seems to be really stable if i see some comments in forum). Sync possibilities are not so obvious, because of less client software solutions. There is currently just an android app. carddav, caldav and webdav are supported. I'll try it next. They are working on a multi-platform desktop client. the only thing that i can currently tell to you, is that it is really simple to install and to manage. And gui is really reactive on my rpi v2. Their development sprints seems to be fast. But are not clearly detailed for me.
