Having been waiting for a long time, with the new update we have finally gotten a tiny bit of control, regarding the colors used for various aspects of the UI, regardless of our choice of ambiance.

This is all well and good, but there are still several issues, which I thought I'd list here, not to complain, but to inform. I realize that the developers have enough on their plate, but perhaps this will help anyway, and I've been wanting to do it for a long time.

  1. Color control. Yes the new update helped a bit, but there's still much to be done, such as the color of the clock, app icon text, and various notification, battery, power, bt, wifi (and so forth) icons, the last of which is probably the com important, as I suspect it will take some doing to give the user control.
  2. When color control is available, please please give us the option to write a specific color code/hex value. Yes it's sorta silly, but many of us suffer slightly from OCD or whatever, and it is rather annoying to have to guess which color is the greenest green or the reddest red, etc. ;)
  3. Regarding the parallax background, that is the background which moves at a different speed than the foreground when scrolling/sliding, it works nicely, except for a few small issues

3.1. The number of items in the home screen pulley affects the position of your background.

3.2. The number of application screens affects the rate at which the background moves when sliding through the screens.

The last two complains may seem silly, but for me at least it is important, as I spend quite a lot of time designing my own ambiances where it's important to me where various parts of the image is positioned in various screens. It takes quite a lot of time to get it right, and then suddenly you have a new application screen and you can start from scratch.

Lastly, it would be nice if various aspects of how the UI works were more available. I mean like how much does the background move when sliding through the screens, which rules are used for picking the colors for various ambiances, and so on and so forth.

I think that was all, more or less. Again, not complaining, just making sure that the right people are informed about those things that are important to me at least.

Best regards.

Come ON, man! We still have a lot of important (sometimes even basic) functionality absent, and you are suggesting the devs to concentrate on how fast the background picture moves when you swipe. E.g., they STILL have not fixed the image zooming in gallery (requested 1 year and 2 months ago); STILL have not provided a way to quickly scroll a long list (also requested 1 year and 2 months ago and has 255 votes by now); etc., etc.

first of all, I personally have very few issues with my phone, and I have had it for quite a while, so even if I did what you suggest, I don't think it too unreasonable.

However I did not. In fact, quite the opposite. I made great efforts to explain that this was not a complaint, that I understand that there are other issues with higher priority, and that this post was really more of and awareness thing.

In other words, don't "Come ON, man!" me, if you can't be bothered to read what I've actually written beforehand.

@Zacariaz: cheer up, I didn't mean to insult you. What I meant is that Jolla devs are notorious for implementing things like you described, while neglecting much more important things for years. I can easily imagine some of Jolla developers stumble upon your post and say, "Hey, that's what we gonna do in the next release!" And then you will get those improvements at the price of already existing bugs/missing features delayed even further. Anyway, sorry again for upsetting you.

That's quite alright, I'm not upset, I just don't like when people go all Rambo on me when I've done everything you could ask of me to avoid just that.
