How to disable the 'Charging' notification?

I am using a SolarTOH for my Jolla.

Every time the sun hits my phone the display turns on and the phone vibrates.

this probably costs more energy than i gain with the solar charger.

is there a way to change this behavior?

Just a suggestion rather than getting all technical; leave your phone screen facing up for now, contact the developer of SolarTOH, Dirk, he would be the best man to ask and ask him to add options for disabling charging.

According to this post on TMO you can prevent vibration and display turning on by shutting down upowerd. This can be done in the terminal like this:

killall -s STOP upowerd

I guess you need to be root to to that. If you don't know how to access terminal or become root, read this.

I don't know what side effects this has. I guess upowerd is there for some reason. ;)

This is also being discussed in the question about a bike mode.
