Protonet is a german company which offers business and project server. For details see here...

They also published an API for message transfer as well as file transfer...

I would like to have a native or at least app integration for Protonet messaging into Jollas message system. Thanks a lot!

we looked into protonet when setting up our business server: overpriced, norhing special compared to open-source cloud solutions, but packed in shiny boxes and riding on the wave that nsa and data integrity discussions in europe caused.as far as i know thats not our point only to stick with a linux server solution that offers much more. also it reads like the messanger also is a closed source solution, working on their hard+software solution only. which sounds no different to me like what apple does-and exactly unlike everything jolla stands for.

@kaktux: Noone forces you to buy something. If you think it's to expensive that's okay. Others say the same about Apple products. And still others don't think so at all... But this doesn't mean Jolla must not support Protonet APIs.

I haven't checked this out but Protonet says you get the source code within the box. Also they publish the API so you can/could build your own open source client.

And even if the messaging service would be closed source it wouldn't be different to Google, Apple, Facebook, Instagram and many others (like you mentioned). BUT Jolla DOES offer apps to connect to these services as well. So what's the difference?
