[Feature-request] App Covers buttons and swiping

I would like the app covers to be a bit more powerful. Sailfish 2.0 is introducing buttons removing the swiping (as far as I know). But why not both? with swiping adding further functionality rather than doing the same action as the button.

eg.

Music playback could have 2 buttons; play/pause and a stop buttons and 2 swipe actions, one for going back a song and another for skipping.

Same kind of thing can be done with the browser, have a refresh button and a new tab button, and swiping can allow you to go through history going back and forward.

Side swipes will be reserved for other actions in Sailfish OS 2.0 (for switching between main view and notification area), so it can't be used for cover actions any more.

Why not both?

Basically the swipe actions were incompatible with the horizontally scrolling home page with Sailfish OS 2.0. If swipe actions were still viable then I would say they wouldn't have switched to buttons in the first place.

But why not set edge swipe gestures for scroling homepage on phone? It's workable.

because edge swipes are used for other things like the partner view, app drawer, events view, and such.

@r0kk3rz@fishegg for the sake of new users pull and swipe will be the same in SFOS2.0... so no they are not used for other things - gestures duplicate actions - yeah Jolla thinks we are retards and need any directed move gesture be the same anywhere on the display, so pulls and swipes are merged to the same action
