There is a beautiful android app droidcam together with open source PC client (for Windows, Linux and Mac). It allows user to use smart-phone as external web-camera for PC or an IP Cam (connection types to PC are WiFi and USB (via adb) ).

It is still possible to use Droidcam apk from aptoide, but there are some troubles:

  1. Droidcam doesn't work with display turned off. So you should always turn your display on, so your battery will be eating more. Heating also isn't decreasing :(
  2. Droidcam PC application crashes all the time using Droidcam apk with Jolla. No more than 2-5 minutes working and then crash.
  3. It's always good to have native app for such purposes.

You could probably compile motion for the device. (http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/WebHome)

Even though motion is primarily a motion-detection activated recorder, it also contains a http server for streaming out video.
