Is there a chance to get Garmin Smartphone Link working?

I'm an owner of the Garmin zumo 590 navigation unit which have the possibility to link via bluettooth to a smartphone where the Garmin Smartphone Link APP is running to get weather, traffic and other information. Unfortunately this app does not run on the Jolla, when I start it, it take some time then I get back to the home screen. Is there any possibility to get it run now or in the near future?

My Garmin Nüvi 1690 paired with my Jolla seamlessly (contrary to my old Nokia E90 Communicator).

Just to precise it, my Jolla connects without problems to the zumo, the problem is that the Garmin APP on the Jolla does not start.

Okay, let me make it clear: I only use the Garmin/Jolla connection for audio. I don't see the usefulness of having the Garmin app running on the phone while paired with the Garmin, as both devices would more or less do the same thing (Nüvi 1690 has its own SIM card). Did I miss something?

Yes, you miss something, the zumo 590 has no TMC, it gets this information from the mobile app, furthermore you can look for the weather conditions along the route, because the zumo is a motorcycle navigation system this information is sometimes important.:-)

gPlay says it is incompatible with my device, so I guess it really is - just checked for you if gapps on Jolla with proper gservices running would run the app but gplay is usually right (for my devices at least) about compatibility - wonder why though as the version says 2.2 and up - you may contact the developer email and ask them to add the Jolla screen resolution (guess that is the issue) to it on their next update.

Thanks for testing. I fear the developer, in this case this is Garmin,is not very interested in what their customers want.:-/

You should be able to download and install Android Apps which are flagged as non compatible at the Playstore by using the alternative Store APKPure. APKPure uses the Playstore Sources, but ignores the device compatibility flags. I used it to get the map application here weego (former Nokia here/maps) on my device and it works perfectly.
