Google Docs closes after the tutorial screen

I've recently installed the Android Google Docs Editor and when I run it the tutorial screen i showed but upon skipping or completing it the program exits.
Is this related to Google Play Services? Or the Google Play Store? All previous such errors have thrown a message saying this is the case so I am uncertian whther to risk installing them now as it has not been explicitly implicated.
Google Docs? I've heard there are some phones in the market somewhere called "Android phones", maybe it runs better on those. Sure, Play services are needed, store... depends on if you trust other providers. But yeah, Sailfish Documents is pretty bad option, I must admit :) Welcome to TJC!

The other parties are not owners of any Sailfish OS device so suggestions must take that into account.

There's separate color for each writer too as an option, but it's very very simple compared to G-docs. I guess there are even more options for browser access too, both simple and feature-full.
