Hi,
I'm from Sweden, originating from Balkans and I now live in Luxembourg. Based on this situation, I am using Swedish, Serbian, English, German and French in my phone on daily basis, when writing messages etc. I got an idea that I would like to share with OS developers which would help primarily myself, but I guess other users as well. I am using an iPhone at the moment, but getting an idea through to Apple is hopeless, as I guess that "they know best what the users need".
Idea: Something that I call "MLoC" (em-lock), or Main Language of Communication. When entering a new contact in the address book of the phone, there should be an alternative to link a language to that person, which then would steer the choice of keyboards and predefined messages in other apps. Examples - I link Swedish to Friend 1. Everytime I am writing to Friend 1, the pre-selected keyboard should automatically be the Swedish one, including the proofing. This would apply for Whatsapp, SMS, email, and any other app where one is communicating with Friend 1.
Also, on iOS there is a possibility to answer an incoming call with a message if the call cannot be answered. These messages are few, and pre-defined, BUT they are linked to the main language of the phone, not to the person calling. This creates a problem since I cannot answer a French guy in Swedish, etc. This option should also be linked to the caller through contacts and if the number is new, then it can be of course move to the phone language.
Since this would be a development linked to the OS, it is nothing that can be done through a launcher or app, hence it is up to you at Jolla, Apple, Android and MS to implement it. I guess that you would be the most flexible player on the market.
Would you at Jolla be able to implement this in your system? Consider this as a free suggestion.. an idea can anyways be protected so feel free to use it.

Edit: Of course it is possible to switch between keyboards in an app, but it is a time consuming and tricky thing to do when you have 4-5 of them. And imagine communicating to two people at the same time when they have different languages, e.g. in whatsapp - you choose recipient 1, then keyboard.. you type, send.. go to another user, change the keyboard, type, send..then again go to the first one, change keyboard, type, send.. etc. Not good enough for 2015.
