The problem of the new cover action

Well I just downloaded the 1.1.9 and I have a really big problem with it: new cover "tapping" actions instead of "swiping" actions

I understand the fact that make it swipe action could make it difficult to use because of the new event/home cycling system but removing swiping does not fix the problem for 3 reason:

  1. you can tap on the action instead of the app (understand that make it tapping action did not really fix the problem) see: https://together.jolla.com/question/108612/deactivate-cover-actions-completly/
  2. the cover action are tiny which make it too difficult to aim (and jolla cannot make it bigger because of the first problem)
  3. it remove the "fun" of the swipe which is in the ADN of sailfish (IMO)

But the problem with this home screen is it completely break the consistency in the OS. I'm ok with swiping from the edge to get event, home, or app grid but stick on it and do not make different when you are in app or when you are in home. Just because of this lack of consistency you cannot implement those cool and fun to use cover actions (which should be a priority IMO)... You easily could fix this problem by fixing this consistency and add those swiping cover action (up/down or right/left)

I am writing this because I really feel fast and productive when I could change my music refresh my mail refresh tweetian without even seeing my phone and now sometimes I can miss and open the app instead.... Aside of this the problem of the pulley menu with scrollable item is still not fixed and you (jolla team) made a huge mistake with this swipe then tap lock system... =/ but this is another story

-> you can vote this to say that jolla made an error with this choice...
