when setting up a new email the client by default selects IMAP4 - "secure connection - not in use" and SMTP - "secure connection - not in use". i think many not so tech savvy users might just swipe "accept" and use unencrypted connections. i dont think that these are good default settings for obvious reasons.
so why not just set the default to "startTLS" in both cases? its no big deal and might help many users. its still an option, so if people dont like it they can change it.
i think encryption should always be the standard...
