I recently installed microG (free implementation of google services API) on my Jolla and at least one application (documentos) is able to work with it. the ability to use microG can be a big progress in the competability of Jolla to the Android ecosystem, even more the the original google play services, since microG is free and therefor relatively spy-clean. helping to create a fully functional port of this project to SailfishOS seems to me as valuable effort for Jolla development team.
