Sorry if this has already been covered in a previous post, but I had a look and I can't find anything similar.
I have recently experienced a problem where the network drops completely and then reconnects every few (maybe 10?) seconds and continues to do so until I reboot the phone. This unfortunately drains the battery. The only time it doesn't happen is when the mobile internet is connected and the wifi is off/no wifi network is available. I thick I have ruled out the carrier as a reboot solves it (signal is full bars 3G where I live).
I have also noticed that when it enters this state, the notifications that would normally pop up to tell me it's connected don't happen. Does that mean it's something to do with the software that manages the network connections?
As I sent it back recently, I first thought it could be hardware related, but it sounds to me more like a software problem.
I factory reset the phone a few days ago (to try and solve this problem) and I'm currently running 2.0.1.7 (Tallojärvi) [early access].
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update 31/01/2016:
After further investigation, this problem only seemingly occurs when the phone tries to switch from 3G to 4G (ie. it tries for 4G but fails and switches back to 3G). Sometimes though 4G works perfectly fine. Next I'll check whether it is location dependent, which could suggest a network problem. The provider claims everything is fine though.
In the meantime, is there a tutorial somewhere on how to diagnose network problems on my Jolla, so I can rule out a phone fault? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Update 2 31/01/2016:
Think my issue might be related to this: https://together.jolla.com/question/126545/4g-data-fails-connect-workaround/
I've now worked out that:
