How to install F-Droid on Jolla phone?

Hi,

I'm a new Jolla user (had to make some effort to find one for sale, but I managed!) and I'm happy with it so far. I'm interested in open source software and I want to avoid Android apps, so I would like to download F-Droid. I've found it in the Jolla Store, but it doesn't work. The only thing it does is refer me to the Android Support app. So I decided to search on this forum and the internet how to download it myself, but I got stuck. Please be aware that I'm not a techie, so step by step instructions would be most helpful.

This is what I've done up to now: - Installed the F-Droid akp from the F-droid.org; - Installed a file browser; - Found F-droid in the file browser and tapped Install.

Then I got the message "xdg-open found no preferred application". So... what to do now?
