[Problem and Request] After factory reset phone gets reset to version 1.0.8.19 but the backup from 2.0.4.14 cannot be installed anymore

Problem Statement: After factory reset phone gets reset to version 1.0.8.19 but the backup from 2.0.4.14 cannot be installed anymore

Result: This results in a marathon of installing the OS software updates one by one and then after that I hope that I can install my backup again. That takes several hours of work as its not unattendet.

My Statement: What a mess and now i really again consider leaving the boat ...

  • I have to enter the kryptik and long wireless code by hand as there is no app helping with this.
  • I have to install serveral updates by hand and the download and processing of them takes sometimes more then 20 minutes (per update).

Question: Isn't there a more user friendly way of doing things?

Suggestion: When resetting to factory I would like to be asked with current OS version I would like to reset back to. Often I only would like to have a wipe of the data, the apps and the settings in order to be able to start from scratch.

What a bummer ....
