Well, icon is there but no connection strength. At the time of screen shot my wifi connection was 52 dBm.

Edit:
After running this vpn thing for two weeks, I realize the "non working" WiFi indicator must be by design. Indicator off, means tunnel on. Indicator on means tunnel off.
