Reinstall Linux kernel

After some experimentation I am left with a system that seems to up-to-date the user-space (4.1.0), but the kernel from the recover image:

~ $ uname -a
Linux jolla 3.4.0.20131115.2 #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 18 03:00:49 UTC 2013 armv7l armv7l armv7l GNU/Linux

I guess I am lucky I can still access the phone over WLAN, but the UI is not working at all.

How do I force a re-installation of the current kernel version?
