In the Settings app, after selecting WLAN, Connect to internet, and selecting an SSID, if the password you enter does not connect (not becessarily wrong - often it says 'connecting...') there appears to be no way to cancel out of the WLAN dialogue, or the Settings app. 'Cancel' only allows you to keep trying.
I've had this with several hotel wifi connections recently. I rebooted the phone each time.
