Hi All Can I ask help from the community. I am not very technical but usually can follow instructions but I seem to be having problems getting Sailfish X onto my new Sony Xperia X.
As per the "What you need to begin" section here. I have everything needed. https://jolla.com/sailfishxinstall/
Section 1. I need to follow instructions for a locked device. (Option 1) 1.1.1 / 1.1.2 / 1.1.3 ==> Completed successfully over a period of about 1 hour.
Section 2: 2. Install the fastboot driver 2.0 to 2.16 ==> Completed successfully (Instructions perfectly written)
Section 3: 3. Extract the Sailfish OS .zip file 3.1 and 3.2 ==> Completed Successfully
Section 4: 4. Unlock the bootloader. This is where things start to get messed up for me. I have tried to follow these instructions in a Windows PC and a Mac. I have the phone in developer mode USB debugging "On". And OEM unlocking "On
The instructions on the sony web page for windows was not very clear at all so I decided to follow the Mac instructions. I also found this question answered by jolla for mac on this page https://together.jolla.com/question/165844/unlock-your-boot-loader/
I have followed these instructions as best I can Connect the Xperia X pressing the Vol up button while connecting to the computer. I installed Android Studio for Mac
cd ~/library/android/sdk/platform-tools ENTER ==> This worked flawlessly /fastboot ENTER ==> This provided a lot of information of which I could not find any error (so I assume this worked) ./fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x################ using the ####unlock code The 0x code I have from sony replaced the 0x################ when I pressed enter it do nothing. I didn't get an error or anything. So I assumed it worked. As there was nothing I could do I unplugged the phone thinking it was successfully unblocked.
Back I go to Jollas instructions.
Section 5: 5. Getting the Sony vendor binary images 5.1 / 5.2 & 5.3 ==> Completed successfully
Section 6: 6. Flashing Sailfish X to your Xperia™ 6.1 to 6.6 ==> Completed Successfully
At this point EMMA pops up saying "Locked Phone Detected"
Can somebody please help me. Ive been at this nearly all day. I know the solution is easy (if you know how)
Thanks in advance
Sean
