Why is Firefox' Sync funtionality not supported (currently)?

Installing Firefox and using it is not problematic at all. However, the "Sync" function is not supported currently. Though pairing the device and syncing seems to start... after a while the process crashes. Any further attempt to Sync is rejected as "not supported" or similar. Nevertheless, some bookmarks from the main computer appear in Jolla's FFX installation as well. This means that syncing kinda works but is broken, for whatever reason, mid-ways.

Why is Firefox' Sync-ing capability not supported (currently)? Any plans for near-future support?

Why is (the Android) Firefox' Sync-ing capability not supported (currently)? Any plans for near-future support?

Update: I did know of any plans to support syncing FFX store(d) data to Sailfish' own browser, which is a brilliant idea.
