Remember the little "hovermode-pulley" from the N900 which enables you to mark document passages quickly & efficiently in many contexts ? I think it should be re-introduced in a enhanced manner. Even though this could mean to introduce another lower-screen based positioned "swipe-domain" i.e. from "off the edges into the screen" which will not trigger any "main-swipe" navigation. There thus could be available two such icon-pulleys: one from either side, universally available and completely customizable (i.e. also adding quick links for screenshots, etc.).
