Sailfish X Strategy

I was excited about the latest news about Sailfish X Beta for XA2 range devices. I'm currently living in Malaysia, and planned to buy XA2 Ultra, hoping that in recent future I'd be able to buy Sailfish X OS in Malaysia (APAC region). I went to nearby Sony retail store to inquire about the XA2 Ultra. I was shocked to hear that the retail store doesn't sell Xperia phones anymore and there was only one phone left in the clearance sale, that to XA1 Ultra. So, I sent an email inquiring about Xperia phones in Malaysia. They replied as following

Thank you for contacting Sony Malaysia.

With regards to your email, we are sorry to inform all Xperia model is not available at the moment.

When i browsed through the internet, I could see Sony is in the verge of shutting down their phone market, at least in APAC region. And this link says, Sony will be concentrating only on Europe and Japan.

I'm using the Intex Aqua Fish bought from India. There is no support for this device from Intex. So, literally the phone is stuck at Sailfish OS 2.X. Still I'm able to update via terminal.

From the current scenario, Sailfish OS is supported only in 2 phones officially - Jolla Phone and Xperia X & XA2. Now, that Jolla doesn't make any more phones and Xperia phones are not available in markets other than Europe, will Sailfish X strategy help Jolla in expanding to other parts of the work? Is it time for Jolla, to concentrate on devices other than Xperia phones?
