There seems to be no way to type an en dash on the virtual keyboard.
En dash is the proper symbol to use for example
The en dash should be added to the VKB. A natural way to to access it would be with a tap-and-hold of the hyphen (-) key (like variations of letters).

Edit Feb 16: Same applies for the longer em dash (—), used for similar purposes, depending on conventions in different languages. It should be added as another alternative of the hyphen (-). (This is how it's done on the iOS keyboard.)

En dash is the Although these symbols are not used by all (mostly, the hyphen (-) is used instead), they have specific purposes and are part of proper symbol to use typography. I’d like to see them added to Jolla’s default keyboard layouts.
A natural place for example these symbols would be as accents (long-tap alternatives) of the hyphen (-) key. (This is how it's done on the iOS keyboard.)
Examples of where the en dash is used:

Also it is not possible to (easily) add accents to keys in the symbol view (where the hyphen by default is, in at least Finnish and English layouts), so the placement I propose above is not doable.
