HowTo: Install Gapps on Sailfish X (Xperia XA2)

I assumed installing the Google services etc. on a new Xperia XA2 would be simple by following the instructions in this question that have worked wonderfully on my Jolla C and my Xperia C version of Sailfish X. However, I immediately ran into problems, since the /opt/alien/ folder only contains system.img and no further folders. Is this a permanent thing or something that comes with the beta status of the Android support? Has someone figured out a new procedure?
