SMS message context menu is inconsistent

When long-pressing a message to access the context menu, sometimes the item under the finger is selected during press and sometimes it's not. When the context menu just drops is activated messages are moved up so that the context menu is placed under the finger. The active item under the finger is then selected when you release, but the item under the finger is only arbitrarily activated. Sometimes no item is activated, even though it's right below your finger when the menu comes out.

In all other apps the context menu is shifted down, below the item pressed and no menu item is therefore selected/hovered. You can see your choices and slide down and select what you have want.

Because of that the context menu in SMS app is placed under your finger you can't really see the choices and you want to press again to select move your finger away, and moving out from the item. For consistency only one of these actions should happenmenu, because sometimes a menu item is activated, before lifting your finger is counter-intuitive.

Additional note: there are cases in which other apps roll out the context menu below one's finger, mostly at the bottom of the screen. However, (unlinke the messages app) the menu item below your finger is never highlighted for activation without further interaction, i.e. if you just take your finger off the screen nothing happens (even if a menu item is below) - only after moving the finger slightly the item will be selected. This behavior is a bit strange, because I expect to be able to read the menu item's text when releasing the finger, instead of executing it blindly.
