So what I did:
Open the camera application from the pulldown on the lockscreen.
Push the camera button in the camera application to take a picture.
What happened then:
The flash flashed briefly. (what a sentence)
Then the black screen with the big usb connector and and the flash-in-a-box from the device-is-off charging appeared.
After 10 seconds or so, the status LED turned white, and the screen went off.
Then, the screen went back on, showing the lockscreen briefly before asking me for the SIM. I entered the SIM.
The picture was not saved.
About the phone status: 1.0.3.8, battery 80%, WLAN on, mobile data enabled, device sitting in my 20degC living room for approximately an hour.
