If I'm listening to music in earphones, and the phone starts ringing, I'm always on the verge of defacating in my pants because it's so loud. I've tried reducing the call volume to almost nothing, but it's still very loud in comparison to the music.
Some softer variant of the ring signal would be enough, either just reduced volume (not louder than the music), or like the old notification beeps that Symbian smart phones used to have before the iPhone came along.
