Since the Jolla could safely be said to be a "tinkerers device", it would be very nice to have some sort of ROM-based bootloader restore function from which it would be possible to at least get the phone started and restore a backup system, even if the internal flash was completely corrupted. Knowing that it is there would ease the mind of many tinkerers when experimenting, and certainly raise the Jollas rep as the phone to tinker on.
It would also make it possible to include a nice Windows/Mac utility with the single button "Reset Jolla to factory settings", so that normal users who mess up their device by installing the wrong things from Warehouse or any other uninformed bungling can easily reset their device whatever has happened to it, without having to send the phone back on warranty.
