Currently, alphabet tiles that have no records associated with them are greyed out in People app. That looks good when you have English locale and only use latin names in your address book. But when you have English locale while most of your contacts' names are non-latin your alphabet grid becomes really ugly.
As you see most of the latin alphabet tiles are greyed out and cyrillic tiles, that are actually in use, are added to the end of the alphabet. So every time I have to scroll all the way down, past greyed out tiles that are just taking up space, to reach actual contact records.
So, in my opinion, unused tiles shouldn't be visible at all in People app. Or at least there should be an option to hide them completely. Greyed out tiles take up usable space while providing little to nothing helpful information.
