It happpens to me quite often that I read some e-mail or web page and then suddently the screen shuts off. The I quickly want to continue reading but I get annoyed as I have to double-tap + swipe-down + tap-app.
There should be some kind of remorse timer kind of feature for the auto locking / auto blanking screen so that if you immediately wake up the screen if would not show the lock screen but continue to show the app exactly as it was before the screen turned black.
Maybe a five second delay between screen goes off and lock screen activates?

Related: In comments it's suggested to dim screen before shutting it off. That would be OK.
