Usually, emails removed from the inbox in Gmail are "archived" instead of deleted so that they are kept in "all mail." Deleting from the Sailfish client puts the items in "Bin" which is then automatically wiped on a regular basis.
Archiving instead of deleting should either another option in the pulley menu, or an option in the settings should be available to make the delete action archive instead.
