I am sure this is explained somewhere, but I cannot find it:
I liked the jolla/sailfish idea basically because I do not like the idea of being followed, in every move I make, by any of the dominating companies in the smartphone sector. However I also like the idea of GPS navigation.
When I found out that I can install apk packages without signing up for google play, I thought that this would be "my solution". However when trying to install navfree, using apkd-install, I saw a long list of information items about me that I was about to release - not sure to whom and under which principles.
So can someone tell me how to install something like navfree and release only the information that is really needed? And how do I find out whom I release it to? And can this flow be turned off when I am not using the navigation?
