I think could be very useful to have the chance to make a full backup and restore of the system just like Android and to put it on the external sd card. Something can go wrong with an update, a command with terminal or an app, so, if we could restore a backup, we can avoid to reset completely our device and.. why not to have the chance to restore from PC too?

Edit: I'm bumping up this year-old question. There should be a user-friendly way to back up the whole system (not only the home directory) so you can return your phone to an earlier state in case something goes wrong. – @ssahla
