Is it feasible that third parties might create TOHs with extra hardware buttons that are specific to their applications? An example I'm thinking of is: a Spotify TOH, where you could be walking down the street listening to music and be able to perform functions like skip to next track or pause, without even taking your phone out of your pocket. (Such a TOH might even have an extra NFC chip to connect to your NFC headphones or NFC receiver)
