steps: start camera, set to continuous auto-focus mode, set 10s timer mode, point camera at near object, start timer, point camera at far object, wait for timer to expire.
result: blurry image
expected: sharp image
without a mount, it's often impractical to start the timer after stabilizing the camera and targets, so the camera is likely to be moving and pointing at random things when the timer is started. if fixed focus before starting timer is desired, that can be achieved by using the existing explicit tap-to-focus mode instead.
