Currently (1.0.7.16) new CalDAV calendar events are only synced to the CalDAV server at the synchronisation interval set up in the accounts setting. (I'm using ownCloud here)
I think it would be better if it can be sent to the server (no full synchronisation required, I guess...) once it's created, so that other clients will see that event right away.
