Email application doesn't correct the "To" field properly

So, this is a special one.
Steps to recreate
1. Create a new email
2. Type an email address with at least one error (e.g., john@example.xom)
3. Type a subject (any subject)
4. Write something in the body
5. Realize that you mistyped the To address (doh!)
6. Go back quickly to the To field before anybody notices
7. Replace the x with the c, so that you get john@example.com, but don't tap anywhere else
8. Send the email from the pulley menu
Expected
The email is sent to john@example.com. Well, not really, but this is just an example. You use a real email address.
Actual
The email is sent to john@example.xom, and you'll get a failure.
Notes
As you may have guessed, if you correct the email address in point 7 and tap the subject or body field, the email gets sent correctly.
