If a message is sent to Tom, Dick and Harry, for example, to agree a time to go to the pub, and Dick replies 'I think it would be best to go at 7pm as I have to go shopping first', it would be useful to be able to send that message on quickly to the other recipients of the group text message.
Currently, the group thread would need to be found and Dick's message manually typed in.
I propose adding an option to the incoming message, such that when you long press on that message the option 'Forward to group' appears. Selecting this would drop you automatically in the group thread and pre-fill the message box with 'Dick said at 16:35: 'I think it would be best to go at 7pm as I have to go shopping first.' You could then add text to the end saying 'let's go with this' or something like that.
It would required the individual threads to have some marker on the previous outgoing message that it had been sent to a group. The long press giving the 'forward to group' option (on the incoming message) would only exist if there was a recent group message in the thread. If the most recent group message was a long time in the past the option could be dropped. It would also be useful to be able to long press the message that had gone to the group to perhaps 'view recipents' or to 'go to group thread' so a fresh message could be typed to everyone to save hunting that group out.
